COMMERCIAL INTERNSHIP: C LOWER: SERITI COAL & POWER, VARIOUS COLLIERIES
INTERNAL & EXTERNAL (FIX TERM CONTRACT)
The role:
The role is a developmental role, with the primary purpose being to allow you to excel in a commercial role. The successful candidate will complete a structured development program within 24 months to be able to fulfill a substantial position within Seriti.
The duties will include but are not limited to:
• Present key learnings to the Operational Management Team after each phase is completed and identify a project at the beginning of the second year of the developmental programme to present after the programme
• Attend all formal courses and seminars as prescribed in the development program and actively participate in all opportunities for development
• Act in the capacity of other roles in the discipline as and when required and deliver on role outcomes as expected in an acting capacity as well as suggest and advise on improvements
• Identify, propose, and participate in improvement or value-add projects relevant to the discipline by conducting research and benchmarking as well as networking with key internal and external stakeholders
• Identify and engage with a technical coach and mentor
• You will be trusted with individual responsibility from day one in a complex and demanding role
• Business Operations: an opportunity to work within a mining environment supporting business development activities across the Group
• Provide commercial project governance support to the Business Development team
• Provide coordination support for investment or divestment of commercial transactions in line with Seriti’s governance processes
• Liaise with Principal Business Development in taking commercial transactions through governance approval processes
• Working in a corporate function supporting many critical elements from deal origination, due diligence processes, deal structuring, and execution to financial closure
• Prepare month-end reports and ensure proper action tracking
• Manage the post divestment/transaction monitoring and closeout processes
You will need:
• National Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• Studied in disciplines such as Engineering, Geology, Finance, and Legal
• High standard of verbal and written communication (including presentation skills)
• Collaborative, and keen to share information, knowledge, and skills
• Able to identify the goals of any project and work towards them
• Priorities and plan work effectively
• Work under pressure when required
• Strong interest in innovation
• Valid driver’s license
• In possession or ability to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
Advantageous:
• Prior temporary working experience in the field of study
• Basic knowledge of Seriti business principles and values
