The Appointee should:
Be declared physically, and functionally fit for position and environment, as determined by a Physical and Functional Work Capacity (PFWC) assessment from a formal Job Risk Analysis at the relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
Successfully undergo a screening and verification process, as well as credit and criminal record checks
Successfully undergo a pre-employment psychological screening assessment
Be able to work in a team and be results orientated and be willing to work shifts
Proven South African citizenship
Be self-assured, well-disciplined approach with proven analytical skills
Have a firearm competency certificate issued by the SAPS as per the new Firearm Control Act, Act 60 of 2000, or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable time in the use of a handgun, shotgun, self-loading rifle, or carbine
Have a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a vehicle
Have a strong communication skill with proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing including report writing
Have at least 3 years of experience in a high-risk security environment
Have a valid driver’s license code EB (code 08) with the ability to drive a vehicle
Have a Grade C registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)
Have a National Senior Certificate
Advantageous Qualifications:
Certified competent in the handling and use of a handgun, shotgun, self-loading rifle, or carbine for business purposes
Have crowd control management, tactical firearm, defense, and restraining techniques, advanced driving skills certificate/s
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct tasks required in risk-identified or risk-informed areas as and when required; and Execute reasonable instruction given from time to time
Stopping and searching employees, verifying gang cards, clock cards, and employees
Monitor and secure critical infrastructure and equipment which could be used by illegal miners and corrupt employees
Conduct underground explosive audits and inspections of explosive boxes
Monitor belt levels
Inspect and search stores/workshops
Monitor, inspect, and search material cars, explosive cars, rolling stock
Patrol and visit high-grade and secured panels
Monitor movement of employees between working places
Monitor and control access to the mining levels underground
