eThekwini Municipality is offering training opportunities to individuals with a genuine interest in pursuing a career to qualify as an artisan in any of the identified trades. Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants to participate in the eThekwini Municipal Artisan Development Programme in various trades for a period of the trade program, which would be no longer than three years. Opportunities for artisan development are available in the following trade: Electrical

Eligibility Requirements
 i) Minimum N2 certificate including the relevant trade theory subject; or
ii) Technical/Grade 12 with Maths and Physical Science/ Engineering science and related trade theory subject; or
iii) Relevant (directly related to the trade theory subjects) N6 certificate or National Technical Diploma (S or N stream)
iv) Be eThekwini Residents (proof of residence required)
v) Be a South African citizen with a valid identity document (ID)
vi) Applicants must be unemployed;
vii) Must have passion and interest in the fields applied for;
viii) Applicants must be between the age of 18 -35 years;
ix) Applicants should not have participated in a similar apprenticeship programme before;

Applicants will be required to undergo various pre-assessments as part of the recruitment process for consideration.
Candidates will be required to complete an apprenticeship programme as per the specified and regulated criteria of the applicable Seta and the National Artisan Moderating Body. The programme will involve practical training on-site as well as attendance at a training institution to obtain the theory component. At the end of the training programme, the apprentice will undergo a formal trade test to qualify as an Artisan in the relevant trade.

  Queen Cakes Recipe Ingredients : 3 cups of cake flour  1/2 cup of sugar  1/2 tsp salt  3 tsp baking powder  2 eggs  1 cup milk  1 tsp vanilla essence  1/2 cup of cooking oil  Method : Sift flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and mix (dry ingredients ). In a separate bowl add eggs, cooking oil, milk, and vanilla essence and mix (wet ingredients ). Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Gently mix the mixture.  In your greased pan fill each baking tray cup with the muffin mixture. Bake at 180° for 15 - 20 mins or until golden brown.

  WORS / SAUSAGE STEW RECIPE Ingredients : Cooking oil Wors / Sausage 1 full Onion 1 Beef stock cube 1 Tsp of Rajah curry powder with garlic 1 Tsp of Rajah mild and spicy 1 Tsp of Six gun 2 Grated Tomatoes 1 Tbsp of Worcestershire 2 Tbsp Tomato sauce A half packet of brown onion soup 250ml of Water 2 tsp of sugar  Instruction : Add cooking oil to  your pot. When the oil is heated up, add your wors/sausage to  your pan and fry. Once your wors is fried, remove it from the pot. Put the pot back on your stove without the wors, add your onion,  and  beef stock cube and mix, then add your rajah mild and spicy spice, rajah carry powder with garlic spice,   six gun spice,  and stir. Add your grated tomato , Worcestershire sauce, and tomato sauce, and stir  On the side, in your bowl mix brown onion soup with water and add it to your gravy pot and mix then add 2 tsp sugar and mix  Cut your wors into pieces and put them in the gravy mixture and mix. & Enjoy.
