Nestlé: Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Graduate Trainee Programme 2023
Nestlé is looking for potential young talent to join our East and South African Regioteamsam. Covering 23 countries from Eritrea to South Africa, Mauritius to Zimbabwe the Graduate programme is a great way for young graduates to kickstart their career.
Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Graduate Candidates need the following:
- A Degree in either of the following: Corporate Communications; Media Relations; Journalism and or a National Diploma in Public Relations or Public Policy.
- Must attain a minimum of 70% as an Academic result
Work experience and skills

- Good analytical skills

- Prepared to travel (when required)

- Be prepared to work flexible working hours

- Empathetic, needs to be able to understand the goals, drivers, and needs of others
Role Responsibilities
- Internal Communications: Developing and implementing internal communication plans to keep employees informed and engaged. This involves providing support to Brand Managers, creating content for digital newsletters, intranet content, and organising employee events. Managing internal communication platforms across the Region.
- External Communications: Developing and implementing external communication plans to effectively communicate the company's messages, achievements, and initiatives to external stakeholders, including media outlets, customers, and the general public. This may involve writing press releases, organising media interviews, and managing social media platforms.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on public opinion, market trends, and competitors to inform communication strategies and decision-making processes.
- Media Relations: Building and maintaining relationships with journalists/reporters, and media outlets to generate positive media coverage for Nestlé. This includes drafting media pitches, responding to media inquiries, and organising press conferences or media events.
- Corporate Branding: Contributing to the development and maintenance of the company's brand identity. This includes ensuring brand consistency across all communication channels and materials, such as websites, marketing collateral, and internal communications.
- Measurement and Evaluation: Tracking and measuring the effectiveness of communication initiatives using key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics. This includes preparing reports and making recommendations for improvements based on the results.
